Als ik om me heen kijk voel ik me vaak een freak. Ik heb geen normale baan van 9 tot 5 en ik voel me niet thuis in de huidige maatschappij. Dit gevoel wordt soms versterkt door het onbegrip van mensen om je heen. Slechts weinigen weten dat het bandjes-leven in de praktijk hard werken is. Veel mensen denken dat ik alleen m'n nest uit kom als ik een optreden heb. Aan de andere kant kun je je afvragen wie er nu eigenlijk een freak is. Ik, met mijn aparte levensstijl? Of die miljoenen mensen die iedere werkdag tussen 9 en 5 hetzelfde kutwerk voor de baas uitvoeren? En hun avonden vullen met voetbal kijken en bier drinken.
